Here is an old drawing that I finally got a decent photo of. Its of my son Lucas sleeping at 3 months old. I wanted to draw him at actually life-sized so it was a document of how little he was, even measured his head with a ruler.
It's graphite on plate bristol.

Ahhh!
so, so beautiful, and such a good idea, doing it life-sized... my first child ought to be that age around Christmas, and I want to try something similar now :D
wooow, that's amazing!
Simply stunning, David!

In a state of complete awe.
How do you get such subtle, teeny, perfect shifts of value.
What a master.
Hey David,
This is a great drawing, I love the pencil work here. I love how your able to turn the form with subtle cross hatching. Also in the lights. Love your style.
Best Jason
Hi David,
forgive my basic question - but did you use a carbon pencil or charcoal for the deep dark background on this image? I can never get anything this dark with graphite alone.. I would love to know - thanks for your time
Purely inspirational-I'll have to try this with my 3 month old baby girl.
Fantastic!

My favourite part is the hair on his head, little bits of fluff!
